League

Founded in 2006 by Gigi RaMoan, the Bombers are the only skater-operated roller derby league in Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida consisting of members from Fort Myers all of the way up through Tampa. The Bombers is all-inclusive for cisgender, transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming participants.

The Bradentucky Bombers Roller Derby league is made up of skaters, referees, non-skating officials, and volunteers. We have three teams–the Bomb Squad, our WFTDA charter team that competes competitively against teams all over the country (we are currently ranked 108 out of 376 teams!); the Nuclear Bombshells, our recreational WFTDA team who play teams that are similarly skilled; and the Fusion Bombs, our open-gender team.

The Bombers skate and live on the ancestral lands of the Seminole, Calusa, and Tocobaga Indigenous peoples. We recognize and honor those who came before us, and stand in solidarity with native people who still face the consequences of colonialism.

  • Zombelina #13 // She/Her

Board Member, Marketing Director, Nuclear Bombshells Captain // Pivot

I’ve been a Bomber since 2015 and it has completely changed my life in every way. I’ve been in charge of marketing our team and growing our fans over the years and I love every second of it. When I’m not skating, I’m a Director of Product Design for an online retailer, love cooking, going on adventures, and anything pop culture-related. 🧟‍♀️

  • InToxic Kate #008 // She/Her

Vice President, Bomb Squad Captain // Jammer

I'm InToxic Kate, known around the team as Tox or Hannah, but never Kate. I've been skating derby since 2016 and have honestly loved every minute of it, but my love has grown tenfold since joining the Bombers at the start of their 2018 season. Our league is an exemplary organization, and I've grown so much from being a part of it. When I'm not skating or yelling at my referee husband for calling penalties on me (hi, Em!), you can usually find me cooking, drinking at Green Bench, or hanging out with my very sweet, very playful puppy in St. Pete.

  • Hot Reillz #88 // She/Her

    Blocker

I have been playing roller derby since 2011. This amazing sport has allowed me to be competitive, travel, and make so many friends.

  • Tess Tickles #00 // She/Her

    Pivot

Bank manager by day. Derby girl by night. My derby career started in 2014 with zero skating experience. So if you think you can’t join a roller derby league because you can’t skate, you’re wrong! To my fans, I’m always down for photo ops! Don’t be shy ;)

  • Dita Von Cheats #62 // She/Her

    Trainer // Blocker

Roller derby found me in 2008 when I needed it most and I am forever grateful. When I am not playing roller derby, I am playing with my dogs, dancing, gardening, working, or working on a puzzle. I'm a retired professional dancer who now teaches theater and works as a Customer Success Manager.

  • Joint Custody #906 // She/Her

Board Member, Head Trainer // Jammer, Blocker

In 2016 I started my derby career with banked track derby in Saint Petersburg. I loved the fast-paced jams, the WWF-sound of the boards when you smashed into them, and the costumes (of course). I really wanted to push myself competitively so I found a new home with the Bradentucky bombers in 2018. Teacher by day, Bomber by night–not a bad way to live life.

  • Gigi RaMoan #533 // She/Her

    Trainer // Blocker

This Punk Rock Freight Train* has been playing derby since I founded the Bombers back in 2006. I’ve played every position at various times in her derby career, currently I’m a blocker in the infamous tripod "Hot Di-Gi". Look out! I’ll rock you!!!

  • Sookie Smackmouth #819 // She/Her

    Blocker

I found Derby (or it found me is more like it) later in life and love all of the aspects of the sport. I am a Blocker and the team's Mayor McCheese.

  • T Recks Her #31 // She/Her

Merchandise, Junior Derby Coach // Jammer, Blocker

10 years with the bombers. I have held multiple positions through out the league. I hope to be here for many more years. You will know when I am around. You will hear my ROAR.

  • Sarbanes Foxie #404 // She/Her

    Treasurer // Blocker Brace

Few can pronounce and even fewer get the joke, so just call me Foxie.

I joined the Bombers in 2011 shortly after moving to Bradenton and haven't looked back.

  • Morgan Hackemer #5 // She/Her

President (again!), proud member of the Training Committee, cheesy 50s ad man // Blocker

I have been involved with roller derby for 14 years! I feel fortunate to have been in several leadership positions within the league over the years, but what really keeps me going is the camaraderie, friendship, and cohesion involved in making derby happen. Win or lose, playing your game and learning and growing from the experience is amazing. Sharing that experience with not only your teammates, but also the refs, NSOs, and volunteers who each contribute in their own indispensable way is the icing on the cake. 💕

  • EmPartial = // He/Him

    Head Referee

My name is EmPartial and I'm a skating referee. I like rules, blowing my whistle, candlelit dinners, and my wife (hi, Tox!) and my small dogs. I joined the Bradentucky Bombers because my wife is one, and also because it's a great team that's loaded with tremendous humans doing amazing things. You should join or volunteer with the Bradentucky Bombers too!

  • Reno #911 // She/Her

    Jammer

My Aunt found the Bombers online while trying to help me during a rough patch after moving to Florida from Michigan. I made contact, sat in on one practice, and I fell for the sport instantly. It's been a handful of years now with plenty more to come. I love the sport and my team. Go Bombers!

  • John Ref Kennedy #7 // He/Him

    Referee

I found roller derby when I first met Morgan #5, who went by Morgan Hanson at the time (2010.) We quickly fell madly in love, which in turn, pulled me into the derbyverse. I have had a blast both learning to ref and then later skating as a player, first in Richmond VA where we met, then on to Bradenton where we joined the Bombers in 2012. People call me JRK, but hey, I've been called worse!

  • Anne R. Key #23 // She/Her

Member of the Tall Wall Club™️, Blocker

After skating banked track roller derby for several years, I joined the Bradentucky Bombers in early 2020 and made the switch over to flat track roller derby. Attorney by day, Anne R. Key by night, either way, it does not matter, I’m not going down without a fight!! <<RAWWRR>>

  • Florida Crack-Her

    Florida Crack-Her #413 // She/Her

    Blocker/Jammer

I started playing roller derby at the age of 8. After taking a 5 year break my love for the sport has brought me back to the Bombers. Besides skating I spend most of my time in the barn with all of my animals and showing around the country.

  • Ms. Carter

    Ms. Carter #29 // She/Her

    Blocker

I was introduced to [renegade] roller derby back in 2010 while waiting tables in college. After a couple seasons of playing on-and-off with the East Central Roller Derby in Anderson, IN, I came home to Florida and stopped skating. I had my Super Awesome Kid in 2017, and after a tough first year as a mom, I decided to get back into skating. I joined a rec league in Pasco County in 2019 and found my way to the Bombers in 2022 when everything started picking back up post-Covid. This league has been the perfect fit, and I'm so proud to call myself a Bomber!

  • Coach Josh

    Coach Josh // He/Him

    Coach

Derby and the Bombers have sort of adopted me over several years. What started with spectating and supporting my wife turned into offering to help wherever I can. That turned into reffing and now coaching as my passion for the sport and enjoyment of the community has grown! Thanks for bringing me along, JC!

  • PunishHer

    PunishHer #111 // She/Her

    Jammer

I found the Bradentucky Bombers early 2023 and love skating with this league. I never thought I’d get back into jamming but the encouragement from the coaches and trainers has me more excited than ever to grow those skills. When I’m not playing derby, I’m spending time with my partner, my 2 teenagers, or working at a non profit food pantry as the program coordinator.

  • Schredderwolf

    Schredderwolf #941 // She/Her

Admin Chair // Jammer, Referee, NSO

Here to huff, puff, and (try to) blow your walls down, I've been a member since early 2020 and finally skated my first season in 2023. I'm so proud to represent The Friendly City with the friendliest--and fiercest--team in town.

  • Sharkbait

    Sharkbait #678 // They/She

    Blocker

As fresh meat from 2022 I’m eager to take to the track and show off my hard work with this spectacular team. While graphic design and the arts might be a passion, derby is a hot new OBSESSION and I can’t wait to get addicted for life.

Look out competitors, Sharky is here to blow you out of the water!

  • Tally

    Tally #1000 // He/Him

    Open Gender Skater

I help run another Roller Derby League (I like to think of Sunshine City Roller Derby as Bradentucky's sister League), but more publicly I'm an Announcer. My primary role at Bradentucky is falling down. I learn a lot from Bradentucky practices and am consistently challenged by them - I consider myself lucky to be allowed to participate. In real life I build websites for a living. They are OK.

  • Dreadie Mercury

    Dreadie Mercury #186 // He/They

Events Chairperson, Head of Diversity and Inclusion Committee // Blocker, NSO, Aspiring Ref, Friendly Local Cheese Dealer

I first started skating with the Bombers in 2021. Since then I've worn many hats on this league, as long as there's no star on them!

  • Tam-a-ram-her

    Tam-a-ram-her #737 // She/Her

Jammer (all positions except firecracker lol)

I joined derby to get some use out of my pandemic skates, to meet some cool new people in the community, and to have fun! When I'm not at derby I'm either in a photo pit, mosh pit or playing with foreign currency.

  • Loch Ness Quadster

    Loch Ness Quadster #352 // She/Her

    Blocker

II started playing derby in Gainesville and joined the Bombers when I moved to Bradenton in 2023. Since then I have enjoyed every minute with this amazing team and all of the friends and memories I’ve made! Outside of roller derby, some of my favorite things include spending time with my partner and our two cats, reading a good book, and going for long walks.

  • Victoria Wreckham

    Victoria Wreckham #17 // She/Her

    Blocker

After 5 years of wanting to join derby and an unplanned emergency move to Florida due to covid, I found Bradentucky and quickly became OBSESSED! I was a serious dancer through my teen years and missed the physical challenge of ballet. When I’m not on the track, you can find me boarding an international flight or working on my graduate degree in Global Affairs.

  • Critical Brit

    Critical Brit #20 // She/Her

    NSO/Blocker

I joined the Bombers as a way to escape my desk job, and I stayed for the amazing humans that make up the team. Gamer nerd. Animal lover. Aspiring badass on wheels.

  • Big Appa

    Big Appa #19 // She/Her

    Board Member // Blocker

I've been in love with skating since I laced up my first pair of skates in 2022. It took me a year of internal debate to attend a Bombers open recruit, but as soon as I saw someone jump the apex, I knew this sport was for me. I’m so excited to be a part of and learn from such an incredible league.

  • Carly

    Carly // She/Her

    NSO

I joined the world of derby in 2020 as a Firecracker and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. While I'm off skates for now, I love being part of the Bombers as an NSO.

  • Swearodactyl

    Swearodactyl #722 // She/Her

    Blocker/Jammer

Started derby in Alaska in 2015 instantly fell in love (and fell and broke my ankle) with it. Transferred to the Bombers before we moved to Florida in 2020 and although I miss my AK team ( I love you DDD!) I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming, diverse, and inclusive group of hard hitting humans to knock me around. Love this sport and love this team!

  • Bottle Rocket

Bottle Rocket #666 // All pronouns encouraged

    Pivot/Jammer/Blocker

Greetings! I love roller skating, I make art, I’m happy to be queer, and y’all gonna make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here.

  • Feral

    Feral #55 // She/Her

    Blocker

Feral joined the Bombers in Feb, 2023 as a new recruit. After 30 years of playing ice hockey, she decided that it was time for a more serious sport! Jammers beware! Feral is a blocker on the Nuclear Bombshells and she won’t hesitate to knock you out (of bounds). Feral doubles as a veterinarian during the day but be forewarned...at night she morphs into a wild cat-human hybrid who may ask you to pet her and then immediately bite you.

  • Vorpal

    Vorpal #05 // He/Him

    Blocker/Referee

One, two! One, two! And through and through
    The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
    He went galumphing back.

  • Dolly Deathstar

    Dolly Deathstar #87 // She/Her

    Pivot // Blocker // Jammer

Hi folks! My name is Dolly Deathstar and I like to call myself a "Bitraxual skater". I've been playing banked track roller derby for last 7 years! However, I've always wanted to play flat track so I dropped in January 2024 and I never left! During the day, I'm a Certified Veterinary Nurse at a general practice in St. Petersburg. I share my life with my partner, Darth Tal-mal, two cats, a dog and a tortoise.

  • Texxxass Chainsaw Mascara

    Texxxass Chainsaw Mascara #3 // She/They

    Blocker

I started with the Bradentucky Bombers over a decade ago, back in 2012. They taught me everything I know and helped craft the skater I am today. A few years ago I moved up to Orlando and tearfully said goodbye to this incredible league. But, I couldn't stay away for long! I've returned to terrorize these wonderful teammates and scream my way through every jam. Catch me after any bout to talk about horror movies, makeup, or how awful I-4 is.

  • Jammerhead Shark

    Jammerhead Shark #426 // They/He

    Jammer

I started playing derby in July of 2023 and transferred to Bradentucky in May of 2024. I love being a Bomber and learning new skills to help me slip through the pack! Off the track I'm a marine biologist and can often be found at the beach or skatepark.

  • Big Murr

    Big Murr // She/They

NSO, professional firecracker, future zebra (ref!)

I found the Bradentucky Bombers in 2022 when I decided to try out my pandemic skates...turns out contact might not be for me, but spreadsheets are! I am currently learning to be a referee and wrangling volunteers as the Head Non Skating Official for the 2024 season. I feel so lucky to have found this great community of wonderful humans. I thought I needed a new hobby but I really just joined a fun cult and made a bunch of friends.
