I’ve been a Bomber since 2015 and it has completely changed my life in every way. I’ve been in charge of marketing our team and growing our fans over the years and love every second of it. When I’m not skating, I’m a Product Designer Manager for an online retailer, love cooking, going on adventures, and anything pop culture-related. 🧟‍♀️

I'm InToxic Kate, known around the team as Tox or Hannah, but never Kate. I've been skating derby since 2016 and have honestly loved every minute of it, but my love has grown tenfold since joining the Bombers at the start of their 2018 season. Our league is an exemplary organization, and I've grown so much from being a part of it. When I'm not skating or yelling at my referee husband for calling penalties on me (hi, Em!), you can usually find me cooking, drinking at Green Bench, or hanging out with my very sweet, very playful puppy in St. Pete.

Trainer

I’ve been a member of the Bradentucky Bombers Roller Derby League since 2014 and has held various positions within the league, such as Board Member, WFTDA Committee Chair, and Trainer. As the resident meathead, I spend my free time lifting questionably heavy weights in the gym which contributes to my "brick shithouse" reputation on the derby track. I also enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with my fellow teammates and being a mediocre cellist with the Bradenton Symphony Orchestra. I fund all my hobbies as an executive in the nonprofit sector.

Head NSO

We're takin' you on a road rockin' trip down to Derbytown! 🔥 Ever since moving to Bradenton, I knew I somehow wanted to be involved with the Bombers. I was able to find my place among this rad group of people as a Non-Skating Official (NSO), running all the background duties that make games possible. Currently I serve as Head NSO and have the role of Scoreboard Operator where I just panickedly mash buttons. If you want to be around amazing people but aren’t so keen on getting body slammed, know that we have a place for you here!

I joined derby on a whim during a difficult time in my life and I have never found a more supportive and encouraging group of people. Off the track I work in healthcare, while earning my nursing degree.

Bank manager by day. Derby girl by night. My derby career started in 2014 with zero skating experience. So if you think you can’t join a roller derby league because you can’t skate, you’re wrong! To my fans, I’m always down for photo ops! Don’t be shy ;)

Roller derby found me in 2008 when I needed it most and I am forever grateful. When I am not playing roller derby, I am playing with my dogs, dancing, gardening, working, or working on a puzzle. I'm a retired professional dancer who now teaches theater and works as a Customer Success Manager.

In 2016 I started my derby career with banked track derby in Saint Petersburg. I loved the fast-paced jams, the WWF-sound of the boards when you smashed into them, and the costumes (of course). I really wanted to push myself competitively so I found a new home with the Bradentucky bombers in 2018. Teacher by day, Bomber by night–not a bad way to live life.

This Punk Rock Freight Train* has been playing derby since I founded the Bombers back in 2006. I’ve played every position at various times in her derby career, currently I’m a blocker in the infamous tripod "Hot Di-Gi". Look out! I’ll rock you!!!

I have been involved with roller derby for 14 years! I feel fortunate to have been in several leadership positions within the league over the years, but what really keeps me going is the camaraderie, friendship, and cohesion involved in making derby happen. Win or lose, playing your game and learning and growing from the experience is amazing. Sharing that experience with not only your teammates, but also the refs, NSOs, and volunteers who each contribute in their own indispensable way is the icing on the cake. 💕

My name is EmPartial and I'm a skating referee. I like rules, blowing my whistle, candlelit dinners, and my wife (hi, Tox!) and my small dogs. I joined the Bradentucky Bombers because my wife is one, and also because it's a great team that's loaded with tremendous humans doing amazing things. Penalty Wrangler Extraordinaire

I've always admired roller derby. Not just for the general badassery, but for the spirit of community. Sadly, I cannot skate. Not only do I have existing injuries from reckless abandon in my youth, but my chosen career requires full bodily function. Getting hit often is not ideal. So you would think there is no room for me here...and you'd be wrong. Non Skating Officials (NSOs) are the folks in the background that make derby happen. We are the tech nerds and the math geeks. We are those clad in black that document the epic legend of the Bradentucky Bombers. We are an active part of the league and the amazing, supportive, and inclusive community that the Bombers work so hard to foster. Are you an awesome human who loves derby but can't be a skater? You have a place here.

Jammer

My Aunt found the Bombers online while trying to help me during a rough patch after moving to Florida from Michigan. I made contact, sat in on one practice, and I fell for the sport instantly. It's been a handful of years now with plenty more to come. I love the sport and my team. Go Bombers!

Referee

I found roller derby when I first met Morgan #5, who went by Morgan Hanson at the time (2010.) We quickly fell madly in love, which in turn, pulled me into the derbyverse. I have had a blast both learning to ref and then later skating as a player, first in Richmond VA where we met, then on to Bradenton where we joined the Bombers in 2012. People call me JRK, but hey, I've been called worse!

I started playing roller derby at the age of 8. After taking a 5 year break my love for the sport has brought me back to the Bombers. Besides skating I spend most of my time in the barn with all of my animals and showing around the country.

I was introduced to [renegade] roller derby back in 2010 while waiting tables in college. After a couple seasons of playing on-and-off with the East Central Roller Derby in Anderson, IN, I came home to Florida and stopped skating. I had my Super Awesome Kid in 2017, and after a tough first year as a mom, I decided to get back into skating. I joined a rec league in Pasco County in 2019 and found my way to the Bombers in 2022 when everything started picking back up post-Covid. This league has been the perfect fit, and I'm so proud to call myself a Bomber!

Joined the team in early 2020 and have never regretted it. I love skating in any way possible and am working on park skating when I'm not playing derby. Off skates, I craft, bake, and quilt.

My name is Furiosa. My world is fire and blood. Once, I was a firecracker. A track warrior searching for a righteous cause. As the blockers fell...each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy. Me... Or my teammates.

Coach

Derby and the Bombers have sort of adopted me over several years. What started with spectating and supporting my wife turned into offering to help wherever I can. That turned into reffing and now coaching as my passion for the sport and enjoyment of the community has grown! Thanks for bringing me along, JC!

While you can't say EmPartial and I look at all alike, you can say that roller derby runs in the family! I've watched Tox and Em from many a screen over many a game and I have always thought that it looks like fun. So, when I moved here in September of 2022, I tried my hand and loved the sport, the people, and my purple skates. I hope to be all over the track whenever I can, but if I'm not, you can find me at American Stage. Come catch a game and then come catch a show!

I found the Bradentucky Bombers early 2023 and love skating with this league. I never thought I’d get back into jamming but the encouragement from the coaches and trainers has me more excited than ever to grow those skills. When I’m not playing derby, I’m spending time with my partner, my 2 teenagers, or working at a non profit food pantry as the program coordinator.

Open Gender Skater

I help run another Roller Derby League (I like to think of Sunshine City Roller Derby as Bradentucky's sister League), but more publicly I'm an Announcer. My primary role at Bradentucky is falling down. I learn a lot from Bradentucky practices and am consistently challenged by them - I consider myself lucky to be allowed to participate. In real life I build websites for a living. They are OK.

Despite never skating before in my life, I finally attended enough Pride events over the span of several years for the Bombers to finally convince me to try out. Every day I find myself to be a happier and more confident person thanks to this amazing league and the people that made it!

Bout Production Chair

I started skating in the early part of this year after being a fan for several. The roller derby community has been open and welcoming to me from the first time I stepped into a facility looking for that safe place to be my true self. Now I almost can't believe I'm on the track with bad ass people I used to (still) cheer on. This is where I'm meant to be and I'm proud to be part of the Bomber family.

I joined derby to get some use out of my pandemic skates, to meet some cool new people in the community, and to have something new and fun to do with LifeLine #99. When I'm not at derby I photograph live music and play with foreign currency.

I began my derby journey in Gainesville and once I moved to Sarasota for work, I knew I had to continue! I’ve been with the Bombers since June of 2023 and couldn’t be happier that they’ve welcomed me to the team. Outside of skating, I work in client services at a research firm. Some of my favorite hobbies include reading, fiber arts, spending time with my partner and our two cats, and watching so-bad-it’s-good horror movies.

After 5 years of wanting to join derby and an unplanned emergency move to Florida due to covid, I found Bradentucky and quickly became OBSESSED! I was a serious dancer through my teen years and missed the physical challenge of ballet. When I’m not on the track, you can find me boarding an international flight or working on my graduate degree in Global Affairs.

I've been in love with skating since I laced up my first pair of skates in 2022. It took me a year of internal debate to attend a Bombers open recruit, but as soon as I saw someone jump the apex, I knew this sport was for me. I’m so excited to be a part of and learn from such an incredible league.

I joined the world of derby in 2020 as a Firecracker and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. While I'm off skates for now, I love being part of the Bombers as an NSO.

Fresh & new to the world of roller derby (and skating in general) KARIN joined the team in the beginning of 2023. This experience has been nothing short of life-changing and marvelous! KARIN can often be found jam timing, score keeping, line tracking, penalty timing, or dancing excitedly on the sidelines somewhere. Off track, KARIN can be found drawing, cosplaying, kissing every chihuahua in sight, and watching things like Miraculous Ladybug or Star Wars.

Started derby in Alaska in 2015 instantly fell in love (and fell and broke my ankle) with it. Transferred to the Bombers before we moved to Florida in 2020 and although I miss my AK team ( I love you DDD!) I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming, diverse, and inclusive group of hard hitting humans to knock me around. Love this sport and love this team!

We all like a little balance in life, right? Well, I’ve found balance by creating delicate ceramic sculptures by day and smashing into my friends on the derby track by night. As I’ve gained momentum within this league I’ve become a jammer, co-captain of the Nuclear Bombshells and an official derby addict. I hope to continue growing as a player, teammate, and skater for a long time to come.

Feral joined the Bombers in Feb, 2023 as a new recruit. After 30 years of playing ice hockey, she decided that it was time for a more serious sport! Feral has just graduated from the Firecracker program and will hopefully be making her debut as a Nuclear Bombshell blocker later this year. Feral doubles as a veterinarian during the day but be forewarned...at night she morphs into a wild cat-human hybrid who may ask you to pet her and then immediately bite you.
